Listing Description
In the center of the village of Tripiti dominates the majestic church of Agios Nikolaos. It was built in 1888 on the site of another smaller church, according to the plan of Agios Nikolaos of Syros.
This temple has rich and remarkable decoration. You will see his marble iconostasis (of the Tinos marble sculptor G. Kaparia), beautiful wood carvings, the old iconostasis of the 17th century, iconostasis and despot of GI Laoutaris and pavilions of Milos ED. Markantoni. You can also admire great icons by Emmanuel Skordilis and other artists of the Cretan School, transferred from the Old Town (the medieval capital of the island).
Finally, it is worth mentioning that this church presents an architectural paradox, since due to lack of sufficient space, its length is less than its width.
